California Sewing and Vacuum was established in November 1980 in San Rafael, California. After a successful launch we expanded and opened stores in San Jose and San Francisco. In 1995 three more stores were opened in Honolulu, Hawaii.

All stores are full service stores for sewing machines and vacuum cleaners. For your convenience we provide service for all makes and models of sewing machines and vacuum cleaners. Free lessons are provided by knowledgeable personnel for every sewing machine purchased from us. Some of the stores give group lessons - some give one on one lessons. We want to ensure that our customers feel comfortable with the machines they purchase and are able to successfully use all the features of the machine.

The company sells all brands of sewing machines and sergers. Check with the store in your location to find which brands are carried in that store. There is a wide range of models in each category to satisfy all sewing needs.

The stores also carry a full line of sewing cabinets and chairs. To have a satisfying sewing experience it’s important to be comfortable and be able to have everything you need within easy access. Each of our stores has its own identity. Some offer quilting lessons, others general sewing lessons. Several stores offer a wonderful choice of fabric. There is a full supply of notions in each store.

For those of you who would like to expand your creativity we carry Embroidery Software, lessons included.

All stores carry state of the art vacuum cleaners – with HEPA filtration. Our selection includes:

We will spend time with you to ascertain what your cleaning needs are and then recommend the appropriate machine. Some machines are better for certain carpeting or floors. Our knowledgeable staff is always available to answer your questions.
